 What they're saying about us

Leah is a true professional and puts the needs of her clients first. She understood my needs immediately and organized the most relevant and insightful tour in Paris. Her knowledge of and relationships in fashion and haute couture run deep. A hard worker, she worked on my custom itinerary for weeks and managed to surprise me in the most spectacular way.
— Devi Vallabhaneni, Textile Artist
I have never put anything on as high of a pedestal in my life as I have Paris. This trip exceeded all of my expectations. As someone who really appreciates fashion, being able to see the city from the perspective of someone who also feels the same way was the most ideal way for me to see Paris for the first time. The days were filled with lots of sight-seeing, fabric and notion shopping, markets, museum exhibitions, and private tours of some well-known ateliers. The itinerary was never too strict that if we needed more time somewhere that it wasn’t possible. And we needed it! The fabric and notion shops were like nothing I had experienced before, especially in Calgary, and I found some priceless items that I can’t wait to use. It’s really a city like no other and I am so happy that I chose to do this tour.
— Angela Harder - Fashion Major, Olds College
What makes FXT different is the unique contacts Leah sourced. Meeting the artisans and touring inside their ateliers would  only be possible with her contacts. Other tours put people on busses and rush them around missing all the nuances and the fun of the side streets, markets, museums, and restaurants. Leah is able to share the real Paris. The hotel was amazing and also in a real Paris Neighbourhood. I highly recommend the FXT tour to anyone.  It truly was an extraordinary once in a lifetime experience. Merci Beaucoup Leah!
— Donalee McColl-Brotzell - Visual designer, Holt Renfrew
Leah Van Loon’s Paris tour was informative, valuable, insightful, and engaging. We visited historical sites, museums, gardens, popular shopping areas and markets, small local workshops and craftsman. Leah’s connections in the industry provided us with special access to locations. She was very knowledgeable with facts and information regarding people or places vital to each stop and always had a fantastic French cafe to recommend near by!

The FXT experience in Paris with Leah was nothing short of wonderful. She is witty, knowledgeable, entertaining, and very helpful. I would recommend this tour to friends and family in Canada and in Europe who are looking for authentic, exclusive, and exciting!
— Madison Tonellato - Marketing Student, Mount Royal University
Leah generously shared her expertise and contacts to provide a variety of experiences for our students. From “behind the scenes” museum tours, to meeting designers and artisans in their creative environments, our students were exposed to fashion insider experiences, they otherwise would not have been able to have. I highly recommend Leah as a very knowledgeable and engaging tour guide!

FAQ

Galerie+Vivienne+floor.jpg

Q: I don't have someone to travel with. How will you make the decisions for who will share a room? Will I have to share a bed with a stranger?

A: The shared accommodations are twin beds that can be pushed apart so no one is sharing a bed unless they have agreed to (couples etc). We will have a meeting with everyone before we travel so you can meet each other and based on that we will assign accommodations. If you have any special concerns let us know and we can make sure your needs are accommodated with a booking for a single supplement at an additional cost (if available). Some of our hotels also have a suite, apartment or a three bed option. Please let us know at time of booking so we can get rates for you.

Q: Why is the price in Euros and not in Canadian Dollars?

A: All of the costs for the tour are in Euros and this allows people from other countries as well as Canada to travel with us. It also ensures the quality of the tour won't be compromised if the exchange rate changes.

Q: Are flights included in the price?

A: In order to keep costs down flights are not included with this tour. This gives our guests the flexibility to use their air miles or points to travel and allows people to extend their trip at their leisure without extra payments for changes in air travel service fees.

Q: I have trouble walking for long distances or periods of time, can I still travel with the group?

A: We will make some time to sit down for lunch and have the occasional rest stop on particularly long walking days (like Montmartre) but overall this is an active tour and you will need to be prepared to walk and stand for much of the day. Paris at it's heart is a beautiful walking city with a wonderful Metro system and we will take full advantage of it.

Q: Can I bring my kids?

A: The fall experience is only open to adults, 18+ , with good mobility. However we can help you plan a trip for your family with kid friendly opportunities, just email us to get started! We have great self guided opportunities for you for when Leah is not in Paris.

Q: When should I arrive for the tour?

A: You can arrive anytime before the first day of the tour as your travel is entirely up to you. Some people might enjoy arriving a few days early to get over their jet lag and we are happy to assist with adding days to your hotel stay or offering private guided tours or shopping experiences. If you are arriving in Paris that day you should plan to arrive at the hotel in the morning if possible so as to not miss any events but can arrive anytime you like.

If you have more questions please feel free to get in touch with us!
